Director, Governance and Sustainability

Ed joined Rivel in 2021 to oversee the expansion of the Governance and Sustainability team in the United Kingdom and across Europe. Ed joins as a passionate and dedicated sustainability expert with over 10 years’ experience. He specializes in carbon management, net-zero and governance strategies that help companies mitigate risk, align with investor and stakeholder expectations, support performance and promote growth of companies to become purposeful.
Prior to Rivel, Ed spent five years supporting the design and creation of Africa's first Green School, where his green education program was recognized by the United Nations. This was followed by a role as Head of Corporate Responsibility for Mace Group, the UK's largest contractor, where he was awarded the Lord Mayor of London's Dragon Award for Social Impact.
Ed enjoys travelling and photographing wildlife, hiking and camping, as well as scuba diving, for which he is qualified as a Divemaster. Additionally, he enjoys sports, including watching his favorite football (soccer) team, Fulham FC with his family.
Ed studied Zoology, graduating with honors from the University of Edinburgh, and holds two professional qualifications from the Institute of Environmental Managers and Assessors in Environmental Management and Carbon Management.
